RIYADH: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ambassador Hissein Brahim Taha, on Monday met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, in Riyadh.
The meeting discussed issues of common interest, including joint efforts to address regional and international challenges, in particular the Palestinian issue and the conditions of Muslim communities in the World.
Both sides stressed the importance of coordination and consultation in supporting international efforts to achieve peace and stability in the world, especially in the OIC countries.
On the other hand, the two sides valued the distinguished ties and friendship between the OIC member states and the Russian Federation. They expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration and cooperation within the framework of Russia’s Observer membership in the OIC.
Both sides also stressed the significance of the political consultation mechanism to continue dialogue on all issues and agendas of interest to both parties.
