JEDDAH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha and Minister of Tourism of Indonesia Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno have discussed potential areas for collaboration with Indonesia, especially in the areas of Islamic Tourism, creative tourism, and promoting digital transformation in the tourism sector.
According to a press statement of the OIC, they held the talks during a meeting at OIC headquarters in Jeddah. It added that the two sides agreed on the execution of resolutions of the Islamic Conferences of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) to support the economies of the Member nations, especially in the fields of Islamic tourism, tourism-related services and capacity building.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the OIC also conveyed his thanks and gratitude for the generous support, the OIC has been receiving from Indonesia and briefed the Minister regarding the OIC recent activities in the tourism sector.

On the occasion, the Minister expressed his pleasure for visiting the General Secretariat and congratulated the OIC chief and his colleagues for their efforts and achievements in particular with regard to the progress of activities of the Organization. The Minister termed the OIC as a unique organization binding different regions and cultures in one framework, The Indonesian Minister said that that the Government of Indonesia has high expectations from the OIC and is closely following its activities.
