OIC Chief Discusses with IUT Vice Chancellor Efforts to Enhance Global Partnerships

JEDDAH:  OIC Secretary-General Hissein Ibrahim Taha has discusses with IUT Vice Chancellor the current efforts to enhance global partnerships, a statement of the OIC said on Thursday.

According to the press release, the Vice Chancellor of Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam has called on Hissein Ibrahim Taha, OIC Secretary-General. They discussed mutual collaboration and means of strengthening the academic performance of the university.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General emphasized the need for the University to foster academic excellence, research, and cultural understanding as well. He stressed upon the significance of making efforts to bring more global students to the University particularly from the least developed nations of the OIC.

The OIC chief expressed appreciation for IUT’s dedication to promoting educational advancements and its inclusive approach, the statement maintained.

The Vice-Chancellor also assured the Secretary-General that all efforts will be made to explore avenues for cooperation in fields such as technology, science, engineering, and mathematics, as well as social sciences with other OIC universities.

On his part, Dr. Rafiqul Islam highlighted the university’s current efforts to enhance international partnerships and create opportunities for students and faculty to interact in collaborative projects on a international scale. The OIC Secretary-General lauded these initiatives and expressed enthusiasm for future success of the University.
