JEDDAH: In a significant step towards fostering mutual cooperation, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissain Brahim Taha, held constructive discussions with Dr. Kao Kim Horn, Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), during his official visit to Indonesia.
The meeting, held at the ASEAN headquarters in Jakarta, aimed to bolster bilateral relations and explore avenues for increased collaboration between the two influential organizations.
During the meeting, Mr. Taha emphasized the OIC’s earnest desire to establish a framework of cooperation with ASEAN, rooted in joint efforts to drive forward projects of shared interest. The proposed collaboration would encompass a range of initiatives aimed at contributing positively to the common welfare of both organizations.
OIC’s Commitment to Stability and Peace
Dr. Kao Kim Horn warmly received Mr. Taha and his accompanying delegation, highlighting the instrumental role that ASEAN plays in nurturing peace and security within the Southeast Asian region.
