JEDDAH: The first Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, OIC said on Friday. The session brought together science and education ministers and top officials from the OIC member countries in the field of science, technologies and innovations.

In his speech on behalf of the OIC chief, Ambassador Askar Mussinov, Assistant Secretary General for Science and Technology briefed the participants on the very essence of the Dialogue Platform. The ambassador reiterated the pledge of the OIC chief to exercise its complete mandate to further promote the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform.

According to OIC, the session in Almaty adopted a number of fundamental documents, designed to initiate the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform as consultative global fora to further enhance intra-OIC cooperation in the domain of technology.

In course of discussions, presented by the heads of national delegations, the representative of the Iran offered to host the next Ministerial Meeting of the Dialogue Platform in Tehran in 2024.
