OGDCL Discovers Oil, Gas in Sindh’s Sanghar District

ISLAMABAD: Sharing some good news OGDCL (Oil and Gas Development Company) announced on Thursday that the discovery of oil and gas at the exploratory well named Kot Nawab-1, has been located in Sanghar District, Sindh.

According to a statement from the company, Drill Stem Test-1 in the Basal Sand has verified 125 Barrel of Oil per Day (BOPD) while 0.483 Metric Million Standard Cubic Feet Perday gas tested via choke size 28/64” at the Well Head Flowing Pressure (WHFP) of almost 150 Pounds per Square Inch (Psi).

Impactful exploration strategy by OGDCL

The exploratory well, is a combined venture of the OGDCL, Orient Petroleum, and the Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL), was shot on June 3, 2022 using the OGDCL’s in-house proficiency.

Officials from OGDCL added it was the eleventh discovery in the Sinjhoro Block which exhibited the pledge of Sinjhoro combined venture partners to exploit the hydrocarbon potential of the block and its impactful exploration strategy.

The recent discovery would positively contribute to justifying energy demand and supply from native resources and “will add to the hydrocarbon assets base of OGDCL and the country”, the statement added.
