BEIJING: The National Health Commission said on Sunday that one person died due to Covid-19 in Chongqing, with the total countrywide death toll reaching 5,233. Officials said that the patient lost his life on Saturday.
The Commission also said that China reported 3,648 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country. The officials added that totally 35,858 local asymptomatic carriers were newly identified. The National Health Commission said as many as 2,043 COVID-19 patients were discharged from the different hospitals in the country.
