ISLAMABAD: Senior Islamabad police officers visited the families of fallen service members of the force and distributed Eid gifts among their children.
“We stand with the families of martyrs on every occasion of happiness and sorrow,” Islamabad Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said.
The Islamabad police chief noted that the brave police officials who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty were the real heroes of the department.
“The department would not leave their families alone at any stage,” he said.
A statement issued by the department said the families were happy to find the officers among themselves.

They thanked the department for its homage to the martyrs and welfare initiatives for their families.
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police Logistics Division disbursed Rs329 million in dues to the families of 501 fallen officers, distributed residential plots among 63 martyrs’ families and allocated Rs510 million from the department’s welfare fund in 2024.
Jobs to kin of the fallen
An official of the department said under the Prime Minister’s Package, 35 next of kin were recruited into the police department, where they were serving in various divisions of the police.
In 2024, several events were organised in honour of Islamabad police martyrs and their families, including personal meetings where the IG Islamabad listened to the issues faced by the martyrs’ families, he said.
“The foundation stone for the housing scheme for martyrs’ families was laid, and residential plots were distributed among 63 families. These families will be provided with homes built on these plots,” he said.
