SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: Senior Kashmiri Leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, associated with the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has offered heartfelt tributes to the distinguished Hurriyat leader and renowned religious scholar, the late Maulana Muhammad Abbas Ansari, on the occasion of his first death anniversary.
In a statement released in Srinagar, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed his deep respect for the memory of Maulana Abbas Ansari, highlighting their close and warm relationship. Mirwaiz recalled how Maulana Abbas Ansari had served as a mentor and a father figure during his early years as Mirwaiz, guiding him through the complexities of political and diplomatic matters. The late leader consistently stood by him, offering valuable advice and unwavering support at every stage of his political journey.
Mirwaiz went on to describe Maulana Abbas Ansari as a man of unwavering principles, a visionary political figure, and a distinguished religious scholar, preacher, and writer. He noted the close ties between Maulana Abbas Ansari and his late father, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq. Their association spanned from the time of the Moi-e-Muqadas movement to the establishment of the Awami Action Committee, with Maulana Abbas Ansari remaining steadfast in his support.
Maulana Abbas Ansari dedicated his life to the pursuit of a political ideal, unwavering in his commitment to his principles throughout his life. In addition to his role as a prominent religious scholar and speaker, he was known as an advocate for unity among Muslims in Kashmir. His contributions to fostering communal harmony and mutual brotherhood in the region will forever be remembered.
