ISLAMABAD: Iranian officials said that a team from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was in the country to clear up “uncertainties” regarding its uranium enrichment activity.
The trip comes following a report by Western media last week, strongly rejected by Iran, that its scientists had enriched uranium to develop an atomic bomb.
Atomic Energy Organization of Iran head Mohamad Eslami told the media that IAEA officials have arrived in Tehran. He added that the “uncertainties” are being resolved.

Earlier, IAEA said that they are holding talks with Iran after a Western media outlet report drew an angry reply from Tehran.
Iran described the news report of Western media as “slander” and said that the news report also “distorted” the facts”.
The latest trip by IAEA team comes amid a stalemate in talks on reviving a 2015 pact between major powers and Iran.
The US unilaterally withdrew from the agreement in 2018.
