PYONGYANG: North Korea has accused the United Nations (UN) chief of “typical double standards” over his criticism of North Korea’s nuclear programs.
In a statement, North Korea accused UN Chief Antonio Guterres of having “typical double standards” and committing the “dangerous act of destroying the trust of the global community in the UN.”
The statement was published by Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) and was attributed to a senior official in the foreign ministry of North Korea.
UN Chief ignoring reckless arms build-up by US
The official said that Antonio Guterres was ignoring a “reckless arms build-up” by the United States (US) that was “constantly bringing all sorts of nuclear strike means to the Korean peninsula and the region.”
The UN chief Guterres had labelled North Korea’s nuclear program as a “present and clear danger.”
