The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has formed an inquiry committee to probe the facts and causes behind the partial blackout that has engulfed the southern region of Pakistan.
The committee included M. Mustafa, General Manager (Technical), as convener, and three other members.
It has been tasked to determine the root cause of the fault and whether it could have been contained. Furthermore, the committee has to verify whether the measures taken by the concerned departments were adequate.
The committee has to review previous inquiry reports and determine whether the recommendations of those reports have been adopted. Furthermore, if negligence is confirmed, the committee has to identify the person(s) involved and recommend remedial measures.
The committee is to submit its report within four days.
