ISLAMABAD: President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI), Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, has lauded the crucial role of media in resolving public issues and vowed to continue collaborating with the National Press Club (NPC) to enhance the capital city’s growth and local economy.
He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of the National Press Club (NPC) led by Afzal Butt, President of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), who visited on Friday to congratulate the newly elected ICCI office bearers and executive committee members .
Qureshi said the recent visit of Saudi investors and the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Islamabad show Pakistan’s growing connectivity with friendly nations and increasing investors’ interest.
President ICCI highlighted the vital role media plays in shaping the moral values and ethics of the youth. He added media by promoting positive content, can amplify moral dynamics among young people which is important in today’s digital age.

Recognizing the unparalleled contribution of former President ICCI and Secretary General United Business Group (UBG) Zafar Bakhtawari in trade politics, Philanthropy, the social sector, as well as diplomacy, President Qureshi described him as the most suitable personality for honouring him with the country’s highest civil award.
Former President ICCI and Secretary General UBG Zafar Bakhtawari on the occasion highlighted the close liaison between the ICCI and NPC for the common good of the society, especially the business community.
Afzal Butt, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists said highlighted the decades-long close collaboration between the ICCI and NPC. He said that the masses are pinning high hopes with the Business community and the business leaders, especially the ICCI leadership must take the lead in the resolution of the economic crisis facing the country.
President National Press Club, Azhar Jatoi extended congratulations to the ICCI office bearers on behalf of the journalists’ community and expressed the hope that the existing relationship between the two vital institutions will strengthen in the days to come.
