NEW YORK: Novak Djokovic created history on Sunday by clinching his fourth US Open and 24th Grand Slam title beating Daniil Medvedev with straight-sets.

Novak Djokovic, 36, won the US Open men’s singles title with a 6-3 7-6, 6-3, becoming oldest men’s champion in New York.

The Serbian is the first man to conquer three Grand Slam prizes in the same season four times.

In 2021 Daniil Medvedev beat Djokovic in straight sets to prevent him from becoming the first man to get all four Grand Slams.
