Earlier, the U.S. State Department said that the U.S. would not hesitate to impose more sanctions on North Korea and Russia if they conclude any new arms agreements.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller expressed these remarks at a briefing in response to questions regarding the meeting in Russia between President Putin and Kim Jong Un.

Miller stated that the US has taken several actions to sanction organizations that brokered weapons sales between Russia and North Korea and would not hesitate to impose new sanctions if suitable. He added that it was troubling that North Korea and Russia are discussing cooperation that could violate UNSC resolutions.
