ISLAMABAD/SEOUL: The South Korean military and the Japanese coast guard have said that North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward a sea off its east coast on Friday.
A major South Korean news agency, Yonhap said that the launch has been the latest in an unprecedented number of missile tests by North Korea this year. North Korea fired two mid-range ballistic missiles on Sunday, calling it the significant test for its spy satellite programme intended to be completed by April.
Japan’s coast guard
The latest missile launch has been reported by South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. Japan’s coast guard also reported a suspected ballistic missile launch.
