LAHORE: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has unequivocally declared that terrorism, regardless of its justification, will not be tolerated.

Speaking to the media following the inauguration of the Urs celebrations of Hazrat Ali Hajvery (Data Ganj Bakhsh), Dar announced the launch of a new project featuring automated umbrellas inspired by those in Medina. He expressed optimism about the project’s successful completion.

Dar underscored that Pakistan was founded on the Islamic declaration of faith and reaffirmed that its protection was guaranteed until the Day of Judgment. He firmly rejected any allowance for terrorism under any pretext.

Describing Pakistan as a united nation encompassing its four provinces, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, Dar assured that the law would be enforced rigorously and those responsible for the events of May 9 would be held accountable.

Reflecting on the economic challenges since 2018, Dar pointed out that political instability in 2017 had hindered the country’s progress toward becoming a major economic power.

He noted the current economic difficulties, including high inflation and rising electricity prices, and commended the efforts made during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure to address terrorism and power shortages.

Dar concluded by asserting that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership and Nawaz Sharif’s guidance, ongoing efforts are being made to tackle public issues and advance economic development.
