ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that there is “no difference” between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions in Gaza and acts of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
Erdogan said that there is no difference in the actions between Netanyahu and Hitler. President Erdogan said that today’s scholars across the world, who have the courage to criticize the oppression and persecution in the Gaza Strip are facing threats and pressure, referring to academics in the United States and elsewhere being fired or censured for standing up for the people of Palestine.
A “witch hunt” has been started against any person denouncing Israel, including students, in many renowned educational organizations, he added.

Speaking to scholars and academics who are facing pressure for “defending human dignity,” in the Gaza Strip, Erdogan said “the doors of universities in Turkey are open to you.”
“From the UNSC to press organizations, from the European Union to journalists, all institutions that serve as advocates of democracy have failed on the Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip,” he added.
President Erdogan said that not only global organizations but also Western universities have failed on the issue of Gaza. Erdogan asked could you imagine that university presidents are being held accountable in the US Congress just because they advocate for the rights of women, children, and civilians?
