No-confidence Motion Submitted Against CM Punjab

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Monday night submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, and Speaker Punjab Assembly in the Assembly Secretariate and Governor Punjab Secretariate.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the Secretary Punjab Assembly, Inayatullah received the no-confidence motion. MPAs of PPP and PML-N submitted the motion to the Punjab Assembly secretariat.

The resolution states that CM Punjab has lost the support of the majority of MPAs and demanded that the speaker hold the election on the no-confidence motion. The resolution asked CM Punjab to take a confidence vote from the assembly.

CM Punjab stands with Imran Khan

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that they would conduct voting on the no-confidence motion and asked the opposition to show their strength. He said Pervaiz Elahi is not listening to the opposition and firmly stands with Imran Khan.

Fawad claimed that the ruling alliance has the majority in Punjab, claiming that the opposition is in minority.

Opposition MPAs, including Chief Whip of PML-N Tahir Khalil Sindhu, PPP Parliamentary Leader Hassan Murtaza, PML-N’s Khawaja Imran Nazir, and others reached the Punjab Assembly Secretariat. PML-N MPA Imran Nazir claimed that 150 members had signed the resolution and that the opposition parties had secured the required numbers to approve the motion.
