MOSCOW: Russia has no intentions to change its nuclear doctrine quickly, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
Addressing a weekly presser, he said that Russia was not thinking about some quick actions in this regard. He was replying to a question about whether Russian nuclear doctrine could be readjusted in the future.
He said that discussions are constantly held at an expert level and the overall situation is also regularly taken into account.
Replying to another query, he said that President Vladimir Putin’s press conference is not expected before 2023; however, the Kremlin hopes that he will still find an opportunity to speak with the media as he does regularly.
No phone call between Putin and Macron scheduled: Kremlin
He said that a phone call between Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron was not yet been scheduled. There was no initiative from the French side.
He also talked about the Russia-Ukraine war and said that the Kremlin is unaware of any proposal by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to US President Joe Biden for an international peace summit. – APP/AA
