Nine Members of a Lahore Family Tragically Killed in Neelum Valley Jeep Accident

MUZAFFARABAD: Nine people from the same family were tragically killed in a tourist jeep accident in Azad Kashmir’s Neelum Valley area. The incident occurred on the way back from Tao Butt on Saturday night when the jeep went out of control and plunged into the Neelam River.

Local authorities reported that as soon as the accident was reported, the police, locals, and army personnel immediately reached the spot to conduct rescue operations. The rescue teams recovered the body of one tourist, while five injured passengers, including the driver, were immediately shifted to the hospital.

According to the police, the jeep went out of control and fell into the Neelum River, causing the death of nine tourists. A rescue operation is underway to search for the remaining passengers, but the administration has stated that there is now no chance of their survival.

Victims of Neelum Valley accident

The victims of the tragic accident have been identified as Ghulam Mir, Moeen, Hasnain Shahzad, Waleed Abrar, Hasan Safdar, Shah Nawaz, Zain Safdar, Bilal Maqbool, Azhar Ashraf, Rahim Khan, and Raheel, all of whom were members of the same family from Lahore.

The injured passengers include two locals and three tourists who are receiving medical treatment at the Muzaffarabad military hospital. The accident has left the entire country in shock and mourning for the loss of life.

The reason for the accident is currently unknown that what led to the tragic incident. In the meantime, local authorities have called on tourists to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines while visiting the area.
