NIAMEY: Niger’s Military Regime has said that it is waiting for a formal note from France on the withdrawal of its forces and the French envoy from the African country, local media reported on Tuesday.
The military government spokesperson Col. Amadou Abdramane said his country is waiting for French President Macron’s “declaration to be followed by official acts coming from the competent authorities in France.”

The withdrawal of French forces must “be established within a negotiated framework and by mutual deal for better competence,” the spokesperson said.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced to withdrawal its forces from Niger by the end of the current year. He also announced to call his country’s ambassador from Niger.
Niger’s military regime on Sunday welcomed the announcement that the French government would pull its forces out of the African country by the end of the year as “a fresh step towards sovereignty”.
