ABUJA: Local officials said that at least seven worshippers were killed when a mosque collapsed in Nigeria’s city of Zaria, in Kaduna state.
Officials added that several people were also wounded in the unfortunate incident. The mishap took place as hundreds of worshipers observed afternoon prayers on Friday at the central mosque, local authorities added.

It added that four people were found primarily, and then three others were recovered following the rescue personnel searched the collapsed building.
According to the authorities that the mosque was built in the 1830s. The Emergency Management Authority said that as many as 23 people were shifted to the nearby hospital.
The local Governor ordered an immediate probe into the incident and pledged to help those affected by the incident.
