GENEVA: The next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could take place on February 26-27, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s presidential office.
Budanov told Ukrainian media that the talks are nearing a point where both sides will have to make final decisions on whether to “continue this war or move toward peace.”
He also indicated that a prisoner exchange could happen this week, with the number of released prisoners expected to be higher than in the previous swap, though he provided no further details.
Last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he expects the negotiations to be held before the end of February, with European countries — including France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and host Switzerland — present.
The latest talks follow the third round in Geneva on February 17-18, after earlier rounds in Abu Dhabi in January and February.
