ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott CMG OBE called on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar here at Finance Division in Islamabad on Thursday and discussed bilateral relations and mutual interest.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed High Commissioner and highlighted the importance of long historic relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
They discussed the avenues available for both nations to expand these ties further for shared gains of the two nations.
Finance Minister Apprises Jane Marriott of Pakistan’s Economic Outlook
The Finance Minister also apprised the envoy of the overall economic outlook of Pakistan and the challenges faced by the government during its tenure. He also shared the steps and policy decisions taken by the government to deal with those challenges and put the economy on stability resulting in a positive trajectory.
The two sides also discussed the current global macro-economic situation as well as Pakistan.
The envoy reciprocated the sentiments about long-standing ties between Pakistan and UK and expressed the desire of the British government to further consolidate these relations in various fields.
