GUWAHATI, India: New Zealand Women delivered a dominant all-round performance to thrash Bangladesh Women by 100 runs in the 11th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Batting first, New Zealand posted a solid total of 227 for 9 in their 50 overs, thanks to key contributions from Sophie Devine (63 off 85) and Brooke Halliday (69 off 104).
Despite early stumbles, the White Ferns stabilized their innings with a 112-run stand between Devine and Halliday after being reduced to 38 for 3.
Bangladesh spinner Rabeya Khan was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 30 in her 10 overs, while Nahida Akter, Nishita Akter, and Fahima Khatun chipped in with one wicket each.
In reply, Bangladesh’s chase never gained momentum as they collapsed to 127 all out in 39.5 overs, handing New Zealand a convincing victory.
The Bangladesh top order fell cheaply, with only Fahima Khatun (34 off 80) and Rabeya Khan (25 off 39) showing some resistance.
