RAFAH, Palestine: A new shipment of Saudi relief and humanitarian aid crossed the Rafah Border Crossing on Wednesday, heading to the southeastern Gaza Strip with tents supplied by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief).
KSrelief reported that it has so far operated both air and sea relief bridges, delivering 71 aircraft and eight ships of aid, along with 20 ambulances for the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The centre has also signed agreements worth $90.35 million with international organisations to implement relief projects within Gaza and has carried out joint airdrop operations with Jordan to overcome border closures and ensure the continuous delivery of aid.
These efforts extend the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian work through KSrelief to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza amid the current humanitarian crisis.
Israeli forces carried out air raids, intensive artillery shelling, and demolition operations across southern Gaza on Wednesday, witnesses said, as humanitarian needs in the besieged Palestinian enclave continued to rise despite a fragile US-brokered ceasefire.
According to Arab media reports, Israeli strikes hit areas around Khan Younis and parts of Gaza City. Witnesses, cited by the media, reported drones and fighter jets circling overhead.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the overall death toll from the Israeli military offensive since October 2023 had surpassed at least 68,875, and 170,679 were injured.
Health officials reported three bodies and two injured people admitted to hospitals in the latest 24-hour period.
