ISLAMABAD: After winning all of their group matches, India emerged victorious from the group stages and will now clash with New Zealand in the first semi-final of the Cricket World Cup-2023 today (November 15) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The match will start at 2:00 pm IST at the Wankhede Stadium, the same venue where India defeated Sri Lanka by an astounding 302 runs earlier in the tournament.
In the second semi-final, South Africa, who came second in the group rounds, will take on Australia, who finished third in the Eden Gardens on Thursday (November 16). The winning teams from the two games will advance to the final on Sunday (November 19) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Over 100,000 spectators are likely to see the exciting final of the 13th edition of the competition.
The World Cup-2023 has been structured such that the team that finished first in the league stage will play the team that finished fourth in the semi-final 1, and the team that finished second will play the team that finished third in semi-final 2.
India is going to face New Zealand in the first semi-final after destroying all nine opponents in the event in the group stage games. Nonetheless, New Zealand have a glittering record against India in ICC events having lost just two games since 1992. In all ICC events since 1992, India have beaten New Zealand just twice in 10 attempts.
