ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction of Rs0.86 per unit in the fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for electricity consumers for August.

During a public hearing held on September 26, 2024, NEPRA opted for this reduction, which surpasses the Rs0.57 per unit decrease initially proposed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency.

This adjustment means consumers will pay Rs0.49 less per unit compared to the FCA charged in July, resulting in greater savings on their October bills. For consumers who have already received their bills, the relief will be reflected in November.

The adjustment will apply to all consumers of distribution companies (DISCOs), with the exception of lifeline users, prepaid customers, electric vehicle charging stations, and K-Electric clients.
