ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of Rs1.49 to Rs4.45 per unit in power tariff for a number of categories for K-Electric while issuing the decision on the motion of the federal government regarding uniform power tariff for all related power distribution companies (DISCOs) and K-Electric.
The regulatory authority conducted a public hearing on December 27, 2022, into the motion about uniform tariff submitted by the federal government with Chairman NEPRA in the chair.
NEPRA on K-E
The NEPRA had approved an average increase of Rs 3.30 per unit in the tariff of DISCOs under 4th quarter adjustments for the year 2021-22. Meanwhile, the Federal government, like other DISCOs, has also requested the same increase for K-Electric.
The adjustment would be charged as per units utilized during the month of October, November, December 2022, and January 2023, and the adjustment would be recovered in a period of four months from January to April 2024.
