NEPRA Approves FCA Increase for Discos

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase of 19 paisa per unit increase in Fuel Charge Adjustment (FCA) for Distribution Companies (DISCOS) for August, according to a notification issued by NEPRA.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) had requested an increase of 22 paisa per unit, said the notification.

The authority held a public hearing on FCA on September 29.

Earlier, customers were charged Rs 4 34 paisa per unit for July, which was only for one month, said NEPRA.

FCA for August will be charged Rs 4 15 paisa per unit less in October than in July, said NEPRA.

This will be applicable only on bills for October, said the notification. Furthermore, it will apply to all customers of DISCOs except lifeline and electric vehicle charging stations. This will not apply to electric consumers of K-Electric, the authority said.
