KARACHI: The Ambassador of Nepal, Tapas Adhikari, has called for promoting bilateral trade between Pakistan and Nepal and assured the embassy’s full cooperation in this regard.
The Nepalese ambassador visited the chamber of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), where he met with office bearers of the association and traders. They discussed the potential of bilateral trade of rice, pulses, tea, cardamom, ginger, sugar, and other commodities between Pakistan and Nepal.
The association members briefed the ambassador about the activities of the association. They also apprised the ambassador of their interest in improving business relations between Pakistan and Nepal.
While interacting with Pakistani traders, the Nepalese ambassador assured them of the embassy’s full cooperation to promote bilateral trade between Nepal and Pakistan.
The ambassador stressed that Nepal and Pakistan were developing countries who need to effectively mobilize tradeable products and resources by directly exchanging them with each other.
“Nepal and Pakistan have a competitive advantage in different agricultural products whose trade needs to be promoted. The business community of Pakistan shall look into the possibility of importing Nepalese ginger, tea, cardamom, and several other agricultural products, which were being exported to India, Europe, and USA” he added.
Nepalese ambassador visits Travel Agents Association of Pakistan
Meanwhile, the Nepalese ambassador held a meeting with the Central Chairman of the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP), Nadeem Iqbal, and other members of the association in Karachi. During the meeting, travel opportunities in both countries were discussed.
Travel and tour cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan were discussed during the meeting. During the meeting, the ambassador resolved to provide the best tourism products and services to tourists who wish to visit Nepal.
