ISLAMABAD: Dr Naif Al-Otaibi, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia Press Attaché, on Sunday said that Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, in a bold and visionary move, had announced plans for The Line city in Neom, an ambitious project aimed to transform the urban living concept.
He informed journalists in a virtual talk that, designed to accommodate a staggering ten million people, the Line would become a beacon of progress, innovation, and sustainability under the dynamic leadership of the Crown Prince.
Dr Naif said that the city, located on the pristine Red Sea coast in the northwest Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, spanned over 26,500 square kilometers, making it one of the world’s biggest independent urban projects. With a strategic location at the crossroads of Asia, Europe, and Africa, it was destined to become a global hub for investment and trade and investment.
He added that at the heart of Neom, the city’s philosophy provided a commitment to sustainable development as Crown Prince Salman envisions a future where environmental stewardship and cutting-edge technology go hand in hand.
City Powered with 100% Renewable Energy
He said the city would be powered by 100 percent renewable energy, making it one of the biggest carbon-neutral urban centers in the world.
Dr Naif said it would have modern infrastructure and the latest technologies, including advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems, autonomous transport networks, and smart city solutions. The Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman’s vision incorporated the latest advancements in biotechnology, robotics, and nanotechnology, to create an ecosystem conducive to scientific breakthroughs and innovation.
He said the city would prioritize the life quality for its residents as a world-class educational institution, a comprehensive healthcare system, and an abundance of recreational and cultural facilities would cater to the different needs of its inhabitants. With a focus on supporting talent, it planned to attract leading entrepreneurs, researchers, and creative minds from around the world.
He further said that the project’s estimated cost was a staggering 500 billion dollars, demonstrating the government’s commitment to ensuring economic diversification and reducing the Kingdom’s dependence on oil.
He said Crown Prince Salman aimed to attract foreign investment, making Neom as an enticing opportunity for international businesses and venture capitalists.
