LONDON: Pakistan’s former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President, Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday said that his elder brother and the country’s former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would return to his homeland on October 21 this year.
Talking to the media in London, Shehbaz Sharif said that Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan ahead of the upcoming general elections to lead the party’s election campaign.
This was decided in the PML-N party leadership meeting held in London with Nawaz Sharif chairing the meeting.
PML-N leader and former information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and said Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan on October 21.

Nawaz Sharif Left Pakistan in November 2019
Nawaz Sharif left Pakistan in November 2019 for medical treatment after his conviction in a corruption case. Since then he has not returned to the country.
Nawaz Sharif was declared an absconder the following February. Furthermore, later in 2020, local courts declared him a proclaimed offender as he failed to appear before courts.
