PESHAWAR: Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif on Thursday promised to transform the fate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa if elected to power.
In his address at a public gathering in Mingora city, Swat, Nawaz Sharif criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing him of disrupting the country. The PML-N supremo questioned the fulfillment of Khan’s promises, including the planting of one billion trees in KP and the construction of 300 dams.
“Why did you allow the disruption of the entire country when Nawaz was working for you?” Sharif questioned the crowd. “I pity how you could all get stuck in a person’s plan who promised jobs and houses,” he said.
Earlier, his daughter and Senior Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz urged the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to make thoughtful choices in the upcoming Feb 8 elections. She said that the ballot paper should not be treated merely as a piece of paper, as it holds the power to shape the future.
Addressing the rally, Maryam highlighted the growing popularity of PML-N, noting the increasing attendance at their rallies and stating that those who tried to marginalize Nawaz are now facing the consequences of their actions.
