LONDON: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, Nawaz Sharif, embarked on his journey from Avenfield House in London to Heathrow Airport, marking the end of his four-year self-imposed exile. Sharif, accompanied by PML-N leaders, workers, and journalists based in London, is set to board a special flight named “Umeed-e-Pakistan” (Pakistan’s Hope) bound for Saudi Arabia.

Upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia, Sharif is expected to perform Umrah before heading to Dubai. From there, he will return to Pakistan on October 21, a date that carries immense significance for his party and supporters. PML-N workers in London bid farewell to their leader with slogans of “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,” reflecting the anticipation surrounding his return.

In Lahore, comprehensive plans have been put in place for Nawaz Sharif’s arrival at the Minar-e-Pakistan Jalsa Gah. The PML-N central team, including leaders, will welcome Sharif at Lahore Airport.

Nawaz Sharif to Follow Legal Procedure

Addressing concerns about potential arrest upon his return, Ishaq Dar, a close aide of Nawaz Sharif, assured that transit bail would be obtained, and legal procedures would be followed. The focus of PML-N’s narrative will be the economy, with Dar emphasizing that economic improvement would be the best revenge.

Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming return marks a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s political landscape, drawing attention from supporters and observers alike.

Nawaz Sharif arrived in London by air ambulance from Lahore on November 19 in 2019 after facing severe health complications. At that time, his physician, Dr. Adnan had told the media that 80 percent of Nawaz Sharif’s brain arteries are blocked and immediate surgery is required. Nawaz Sharif received medical treatment in many hospitals in London, and stayed in London even during the Corona-19 epidemic.

After the pandemic, Nawaz Sharif continued political activities from Hasan Nawaz’s office in London. Protests against him continued for four years in London and finally he decided to return to Pakistan.
