Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division), Khurram Dastagir Khan said that Government has decided to provide some relief in the electricity bills to the consumers from the next month.
Addressing in the national assembly session being held on Friday, the minister explained that the increase of Rs 10 per unit for August in the electricity bills was due to fuel adjustment charges in the month of June.
However, he added that now due to decrease in the fuel adjustment pressure, relief will be transferred to the public.
Giving details on the outcome of recent floods and heavy monsoon, Syed Khurshed Shah, Minister for Water Resource, told the session that the floods have damaged over 80 percent of crops in Sindh province only and the country has suffered with more than Rs two thousand trillion of loss.
He urged the parliamentarian to set aside other issues and keep focus on discussing flood related issues and the relevant upcoming challenges.
Other speakers also highlighted issues related to floods, to homeless people in different provinces.
Earlier Asia Azeem from PTI took oath as member of the parliament, who was elected on reserved seat recently.
Later the speaker national assembly adjourned the session till Monday, October 10.
