ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that amidst Pakistan facing several security challenges of terrorism, extremism, and external aggression, the entire Pakistan stood united alongside the country’s Defence Forces to prevent evil designs against the integrity and prosperity of the nation.

In a message on the occasion of Defence Day, Prime Minister Kakar said, “The world also admits the role our armed forces played in maintaining peace in various nations under the UN peacekeeping missions. We are committed to following the policy of peace as a hallmark of our foreign policy,”.
Kakar said the Defence Day was remembered as the day of bravery, vigor, resilience and courage. He added that the day stood out in the country’s history as a symbol of national pride, sovereignty, and integrity.
The Prime Minister said that 58 years ago, on September 6, Pakistan’s brave armed forces proved that they were ever vigilant and prepared to safeguard the geographical boundaries and territorial integrity of their beloved country at all costs.
He added the glorious day, where the entire Pakistan stood side by side with its armed forces, called upon the nation to make a promise to renew the spirit of loyalty and service to the nation and pay tribute to the valiant sons of the soil who embraced ‘Shahadat’ while ensuring the security of the country.
“On this day, the brave Pakistani nation showed unprecedented strength with faith, unity and discipline that galvanized the armed forces – Army, Navy and Air Force,” Kakar remarked.

He said the brave sons of the soil, particularly the Shuhada who laid down their lives but did not let the enemy move an inch to fulfill its evil designs.
PM Kakar said the unresolved dispute of Jammu and Kashmir remained a major threat to regional security and peace.
“The world must come forward and play its due role in resolving this longstanding dispute. Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political, and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri sisters and brothers in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) until they obtain their right to self-determination via an impartial referendum as per the relevant UNSC resolutions,” PM Kakar urged.
Kakar added the whole country stood united with utmost discipline and unwavering faith to make the nation strong. “With hard work and dedication, we will make Pakistan unassailable against economic and security challenges,” he said. The Prime Minister paid homage to the martyrs of September 6, 1965 and all those who rendered sacrifices for the safety of the nation in the subsequent years.
“Together with the backing of our nation, we shall not let go of the sacrifices of Shuhada and Ghazis who deserve the fullest of honours in the most befitting manner,” Kakar concluded the message with the slogans of Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad and Pakistan Paindabad.
