WASHINGTON: NASA is about to release the first findings from its report to examine data related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), a new term for Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) that now encompasses abnormal objects in the sky, underwater or in space that can’t be immediately identified.
The space agency has commissioned a study in response to multiple reports of what appear to be unexplained and unknown craft reported by the US pilots and others.
Now the team is set to release its first report on Thursday, September 14th, that will offer recommendations to NASA on enhancing the methods for gathering and scrutinizing data that could potentially shed light on the essence and origin of UAP.
The agency is quick to note that the report is “not a review or assessment of previous unidentifiable observations,” according to a NASA statement announcing the forthcoming briefing.
NASA’s leadership, including Agency Administrator Bill Nelson, will join David Spergel, Chair of the UAP study group and President of the Simons Foundation, in conducting a briefing on the group’s initial report at 10 a.m. EDT (1400 GMT) on Thursday.
