ISLAMABAD: Female climber Naila Kiani has become the first Pakistani woman mountaineer to summit 8,188-meter Cho Oyo, the world’s sixth-highest peak in China.
In a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter Naila said she is the first Pakistani woman to summit 10 8000er and only Pakistani to summit 7 8000er in six months.
Naila a resident of Dubai, originally from Pakistan, sent a message from the summit of Cho Oyo standing at 8,188 meters (26,864 feet) above sea level.

“I am thrilled and humbled to have achieved this milestone,” Naila Kiani said. “Thanks to my family, friends, fellow climbers and sponsor Bard Foundation, who’ve made this possible”, said the mountaineer.

Naila’s victory is a source of pride for the Pakistani nation and her country of residence UAE.
It is said that her record-breaking summits serve as an inspiration to women mountaineers worldwide.
Kiani has previously successfully reached the top of Mount Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum 2, Annapurna, Lhotse, Manaslu, and Broad Peak.
