MAKKAH: The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the outcome of the extraordinary Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers’ meeting, convened to address Israeli aggression against Palestinians, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa commended the meeting’s condemnation of Israeli crimes and reiterated support for member states’ territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence, in line with UN and OIC charters.
The statement stressed the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Muslim world and the need for a just solution that sees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Open-Ended Extraordinary Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the OIC on Wednesday strongly condemned the continued war crimes, aggression and genocide committed by Israel, the illegal occupying power, in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including the City of Al-Quds Ash-Sharif and demanded an immediate end to the Israeli aggression and the policy of torture, starvation and collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
