DAR AL-SALAM: The Muslim World League (MWL) has honored Holy Quran reciters and memorizers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Hassan, MWL Secretary General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa were present on the occasion.
These initiatives, held in conjunction with the “Tanzania Girls International Quran Competition,” attracted more than 60,000 attendees from across Africa. High-ranking officials, including the Mufti of Tanzania and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Abubakar Zubeir also attended the event.
Female Quran memorizers from around the world competed in the Girls International Quran Competition. Participants who reached the final stages of the competition engaged in the oral recitation segment, a prerequisite set by the MWL’s International Council for Holy Quran Perfect Recitation Sheikhs for obtaining a Quranic license with a continuous chain of transmission linked to the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
