MAKKAH: The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly denounced the horrific massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people earlier today, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The MWL condemned the continued targeting of unarmed displaced Palestinians in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, situated in a designated “safe zone” in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of over 40 people, including many children and women, and leaving dozens of others wounded.

In a statement, MWL Secretary General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa expressed his deep concern over the Israeli occupation government’s blatant violation of all international and humanitarian resolutions, laws, and norms. He said this ongoing humanitarian catastrophe, unfolding before the eyes of the world, is a direct challenge to the global community’s calls for the protection of innocent lives.

Sheikh Al-Issa stressed that there is no justification for this barbarism other than defiance, arrogance, and revenge against innocent people. He warned this escalation only serves to complicate the Palestinian issue and hinder the pursuit of peace in the region.

The Muslim World League calls upon the international community to take urgent action to stop these ongoing massacres, confront the systematic killing, and stop the humanitarian catastrophe facing the people of Palestine.
