MAKKAH: The Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary-General and Organisation of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa has endorsed the statement by the Extraordinary Arab Summit rejecting any displacement of Palestinians.
MWL is an international non-governmental organisation headquartered in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with members from all Islamic countries and sects. Its goal is to clarify the true message of Islam. The MWL maintains offices in countries throughout the world.
The meeting in Cairo on Tuesday upheld the Palestinian people’s right to freedom, dignity, and independence. It aimed to deter the Israeli occupation government from its violations of international law.
The regional leaders endorsed the counterproposal to US President Donald Trump’s plan to expel Gaza’s 2.3 million residents and redevelop the Palestinian territory. Regional leaders and United Nations Secretary-General Antonios Guterres also attended the summit.
MWL Secretary-General Al-Issa rejected any plan to displace Palestinians and attempts to annex occupied Palestinian territory, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
He highlighted the Extraordinary Arab Summit’s statement’s priority of implementing the ceasefire agreement’s subsequent stages and supporting the global alliance for the two-state solution, led by Saudi Arabia.

He also commended the statement’s call for a ceasefire in Lebanon and condemnation of Israeli attacks on Syria.
Al-Issa expressed hope that these Arab efforts will protect the Palestinian people, support their cause, and achieve a comprehensive and just peace per the Arab Peace Initiative.
Meanwhile Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet on Tuesday affirmed full support for the decisions of the extraordinary Arab League summit in Cairo that rejected the displacement of Palestinians from their land and aimed to end the disastrous repercussions resulting from the war.
It reiterated the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to obtain their legitimate rights, including their right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
