ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: The funeral prayers of former army chief and the country’s president, General (R) Pervez Musharraf will be offered in Karachi’s Malir Cantt in the afternoon today (Tuesday).
The body of former Pakistan’s ruler was brought to Pakistan from Dubai via a special plane on Monday night. The plane landed at the Karachi Airport. Wife of former president Sehba Musharraf, son Bialal Musharraf and daughter Ayla Musharraf also reached Karachi aboard the same plane. Gen Musharraf will be buried at the Army Graveyard.
Funeral prayers at Polo Ground
The funeral prayers of Pervez Musharraf would be offered at 1:45pm at the Polo Ground and he would be laid to rest at the Army Graveyard near Chanesar Goth in Karachi.
A special aircraft was assigned the task of bringing the mortal remains of the ex-army chief as the aircraft had been given the status of “special flight”. The craft is owned by Complex Aviation Malta and is about 14 years old. It is pertinent to mention here that his father was laid to rest in Karachi while mother of the former president was buried in Dubai.
