ISLAMABAD: Cricket fever captured supporters’ attention over the weekend before a World Cup match between India and Pakistan, considered one of the world’s fiercest sporting rivalries. Supporters flooded social networking sites with match predictions and wishes for their preferred sides.
While enjoying a match at home, a Pakistani cricket fan said his family was very excited. “We friends are all wearing our favorite teams’ T-shirts and sharing our views live on Facebook,” he said.
A female supporter of the Pakistani team said, “The people of Pakistan love cricket more than anything, and every season, they wear Pakistani T-shirts just to support their teams.”
According to an enthusiastic fan in India, both teams are coming into the match with momentum on their side. The highly anticipated game saw tickets reportedly selling out in just an hour, fueling the excitement among people today.
Another fan residing in Dubai noted that millions of sports enthusiasts are expected to crowd markets, streets, malls, and restaurants in India, Pakistan, and various parts of the world.
While sharing a post on Instagram, a cricket lover said, “It is a huge pressure game for both countries’ players, but it is wonderful for fans.”
