LAHORE: The newly elected members of Punjab Assembly will elect speaker and deputy speaker of the House today, local media reported on Saturday.
The elections for the said posts will be conducted under secret ballot and will be chaired by the outgoing Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Muhammad Sibtain Khan.
Earlier, newly-elected Punjab Assembly members took their oath including PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Meanwhile, former Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb also took oath as a lawmaker of the Punjab Assembly following the PML-N decided that the former Minister would be better suited to assist Maryam Nawaz once she is elected as the CM of the province.
As per media reports, after consultation, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and President Shehbaz Sharif took the decision.
Similarly, political parties are holding consultations to form government in center and other provinces of the country after February 8 elections.
