ISLAMABAD: Motorway (M3) will remain closed to traffic from Sharqpur to Nankana on March 21 due to the installation of a 500 KV transmission line.
National Highways and Motorway Police said in a press release that the motorway would remain closed from 8 am to 5 pm.
The closure would affect passengers travelling between Lahore and Multan. The passengers will be rerouted on GT Road at the Sharqpur Interchange. Similarly, traffic from the Nankana
Interchange to GT Road will be redirected for Multan to Lahore travelers. Public service vehicle (PSV) drivers have been told to use GT Road from Lahore to Multan before the closure.
Travellers and commuters have been asked to contact helpline 130 in case they need further assistance and information about the closure and alternate routes.
The NHMP said that installing the 500-kV power line will increase the stability and dependability of the electricity transmission network and cause momentary inconvenience for those who use the Motorway (M3).
