Moscow Says 2 Ukrainian Drones Downed Over Belgorod Region

MOSCOW:  Russian officials said on Monday it had destroyed two Ukrainian drones close to the border in Belgorod. AFP reported that no casualties were reported after the recent development. Russian Ministry of Defence said the incident two drones and occurred about 1:20 am Sunday.

In a statement via social media, the Ministry of Defence said that air defence systems destroyed two drones over the Belgorod region.  The Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov also confirmed that the drones were downed over the Yakovlevsky district near Belgorod city.

Vyacheslav Gladkov said that no casualties were reported while all emergency services and organizations were on-site.

Since Kyiv launched its counter-offensive in June, Moscow has battered a wave of drone assaults in the last several months that have infrequently damaged compounds. However, Russian authorities have downplayed their importance.
