MOSCOW: The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry has announced that the “Moscow Format” meeting is scheduled to take place in the city of Kazan, Russia.
This fifth round of discussions will bring together key regional stakeholders to deliberate on the pressing issues surrounding Afghanistan. The agenda is expected to encompass a wide range of topics, including intra-Afghan affairs, reconciliation efforts, security, and the crucial task of post-conflict reconstruction.
Maria Zakharova, in a press conference, confirmed the event’s date, stating, “I would like to confirm it will take place on September 29 at Kazan”. It will be another, fifth, Moscow Format meeting consultation on Afghanistan with the participation of key regional stakeholders. The meeting’s significance lies in its potential to provide a platform for constructive dialogue among the concerned parties.
Notably, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, has been invited to participate in the discussions. Mujahid expressed the Emirate’s willingness to engage in any meeting that promises to benefit Afghanistan. He emphasized the importance of Afghanistan’s active participation in international gatherings, underscoring that the country’s stance and system play a pivotal role in influencing critical decisions.
